Tom Tiedemann is the only college graduate in his family.
After earning his bachelor's and master's degrees, Tiedemann enjoyed a successful career as an electrical engineer before retiring to Florida.
"College expenses are high," he said. "Many students are coming out of high school who won't have the opportunity to attend college without some help." Tom established the Tom A. Tiedemann Endowed Scholarship Fund for St. Petersburg College nursing students that has been providing scholarships for students during Tom's lifetime. Tom also designated the St. Petersburg College Foundation as the beneficiary of his mutual funds. "Hopefully, my mutual funds will continue to grow," he said. "I can receive dividends annually and never touch the principal."
